As some of you may know, to make the kids get more excited about seeing famous places here in Japan, I often buy a puzzle of the place we are going, so when they see it, they get pretty excited. The Kintai Bridge was one such place we did a few weeks ago, so the kids were looking forward to going there. It is very close to Iwakuni, so after we got back from Miyajima we had some time to kill before dinner and headed over to see it.
The Kintai Bridge is a historical wooden arch bridge built in 1673. It spans the Nishiki River in a series of 5 wooden arches. It was pretty impressive, and with the cherry blossoms lining the river, made for a beautiful spot to sit by the river and let the children play.
With the puzzle
Love the old boats
Walking across
View from the bridge
Worth the trip, but we were exhausted (or at least the children were) it was a full day them.
This last pic is prize worthy!
